I studied at Shuttleworth College for 4 years and in this time I achieved a Btec National Diploma and Foundation Degree in Animal Management. I also gained valuable experience in all aspects of animal care whilst volunteering at the on site Animal Unit. Whilst at the college I worked with farm animals, companion animals and some more exotic species. I gained experience in lambing, managing the college animals at the East of England Country show, displaying the animals from the college and educating the public. I also incubated and hand reared my own Indian Runner Ducks.
I have also done work experience in two different vet practices, at a hydrotherapy pool and at a Riding School, Livery, Stud and Competition yard where I worked for 6 years. During this time I progressed to yard manager and gained experience handling foals, young horses, brood mares, stallions and the more placid school ponies.
I have worked at management level at a Kennels and Cattery and have over 1 years experience in a busy dog grooming parlor working my way up from a bather to a full time groomer.
In my spare time I have aided a bitch in the delivery of 6 healthy Labradoodle puppies, go on regular dog walks, some of which have been for charity and I attend Crufts and Discover dogs on an annual basis picking up new ideas and information.
I've completed a dog first aid course and I'm also working towards becoming a qualified dog trainer gaining certificates from the IMDT. (Institute Of Modern Dog Trainers)
